Panetta and Reuters Team Up To Slander Cheney

In an unbelievable “news” item by Reuters, reporting on something that never happened but “seems” to have “almost” happened, Reuters actually took the time to file a “story” on how Leon Panetta, the Democrat-lifelong-politician-cum-DCI, is of the personal opinion that “it’s almost as if [Cheney is] wishing that this country would be attacked again.”
Panetta accuses Cheney of “gallows politics” and says that “when you read behind it”, he comes to that conclusion. In other words, Cheney said no such thing, but partisan Panetta is so good at intelligence that he can actually read in between the lines of what Cheney actually does say.
The real irony here is that Panetta is the one accusing Cheney of what he calls “dangerous politics”. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.
If Reuters had any sense, they would headline this with “CIA chief attacks Cheney in blatant display of dirty politics”. Instead, they collaborate with Panetta in turning the issue from what should be a Panetta issue into a Cheney issue, and titling it, “CIA chief believes Cheney almost wants US attacked”—with even realizing the absurdity of a report on someone’s “belief” of something “almost” happening, and not even seeing the “dangerous politics” of the initiator of this drivel.
More “reliable” Reuters reporting.
UPDATE: Cheney issued a response, saying: ”I hope my old friend Leon was misquoted. The important thing is whether the Obama administration will continue the policies that have kept us safe for the last eight years.”

I previously posted about the latest rash of scandalous photos coming out of Afghanistan showing U.S. military atrocities under Obama’s command, and wondering if the media would pick up on it the way they did when it was Bush’s army… Well, here’s a twist I wasn’t expecting: yes, one of the U.S. media, Rolling Stone, [...]
Jeffrey Goldberg, a correspondent for the Atlantic, cast a spotlight on yet another disgustingly overt example of pure bias in the mainstream media, particularly at the anti-Semitic Reuters newswire. He points to a Reuters news item which contains the following despicable sentences: Police said it was a “terrorist attack” — Israel’s term for a Palestinian [...]
In the [sparse] reporting of the Palestinians’ massacre of the Fogel family, several newspapers stand out with their distorted sense of “balance”, i.e., where they feel overwhelmingly uncomfortable describing the barbarity of the Palestinians without at least taking a swipe or two at the Israelis, no matter how patently irrelevant or disgustingly disrespectful it comes [...]
