Sotomayor Overturned Yet Again

In this hot-off-the-wire news, the Associated Press reports that the Supreme Court ruled today in favor of the Connecticut firefighters suing over the denial of promised promotions, reversing the decision of Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor. This brings Sotomayor’s reversal rate up to an abysmal 67%, an astoundingly high rate, and casts some embarrassing doubt on her qualifications for the position.
In related news, Roll Call reports that Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said that the Senate needs more time to review Sotomayor’s record, after 300 boxes of additional material surfaced from her time with the Puerto Rican Legal Defense and Education Fund.
Let’s see if the Democrats are going to be as successful at ramming Sotomayor’s nomination through the Senate as their House counterpart was at ramming through the Cap and Trade Energy Tax Bill.
UPDATE:
In an unbelievably bizarre move, the White house is trying to spin this story positively, as reported by the AP! According to the report, the White House stated today that “the justices’ reversal of a ruling that high court nominee Sonia Sotomayor endorsed as an appeals court judge proves that she follows judicial precedent.”
“One thing is clear, that the ruling by Judge Sotomayor was based on the precedent of the Second Circuit. … The Supreme Court clearly had a new interpretation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act,” [presidential spokesman Robert] Gibbs said. “Some of the very concerns that members of the Senate have expressed about judicial activism seem to be, at the very least, upside down in this case. Her ruling on the Second Circuit denotes that she’s a follower of precedent… There’s little political significance to whatever the court decided today in terms of Judge Sotomayor except to render a fairly definitive opinion that she follows judicial precedent and that she doesn’t legislate from the bench.”
Oh, so it’s the Supreme Court that was practicing judicial activism! Who knew? As usual, Obama believes that if you tell people so blatant a lie, they will ultimately believe that it must be true. It would be laughable if it weren’t for the fact that there are actually millions of idiots out there who seem to believe him every time! (After all, how else did he get elected based on a campaign of lies, deception, and diversion?)

I previously posted about the latest rash of scandalous photos coming out of Afghanistan showing U.S. military atrocities under Obama’s command, and wondering if the media would pick up on it the way they did when it was Bush’s army… Well, here’s a twist I wasn’t expecting: yes, one of the U.S. media, Rolling Stone, [...]
Jeffrey Goldberg, a correspondent for the Atlantic, cast a spotlight on yet another disgustingly overt example of pure bias in the mainstream media, particularly at the anti-Semitic Reuters newswire. He points to a Reuters news item which contains the following despicable sentences: Police said it was a “terrorist attack” — Israel’s term for a Palestinian [...]
In the [sparse] reporting of the Palestinians’ massacre of the Fogel family, several newspapers stand out with their distorted sense of “balance”, i.e., where they feel overwhelmingly uncomfortable describing the barbarity of the Palestinians without at least taking a swipe or two at the Israelis, no matter how patently irrelevant or disgustingly disrespectful it comes [...]
