Obama Trend Continues: U.S. Condemns Israel

In what seems to be the solidifying policy of Obama’s administration, the United States has struck yet another blow against its supposed “friend”, Israel. The State Department lashed out against Israel for evicting a couple of Palestinian families who were squatting on Jerusalem land that clearly belonged to others (unfortunately the “others” in this case happened to be Jews).
It made no difference that this was a decision confirmed by several courts all the way up to Israel’s Supreme Court (often no real friend to its own country) and that this was a legal dispute not having to do with the issue of settlements, but rather actual legal title.
So, ignoring all that and making every effort to support Obama’s recent hostility to Israel at all opportunities, the State Department said that Israel had acted in violation of the Roadmap plan, and that “unilateral actions taken by either party cannot prejudge the outcome of negotiations and will not be recognized by the international community.”
Funny, because you didn’t hear anyone here complaining when Israel unilaterally pulled out of Gaza.
And, of course, senior Palestinian Authority negotiator Saeb Erakat got into the mix, spewing his usual foaming-at-the mouth nonsense, “Israel is once again showing its utter failure to respect international law” and that the homes are “Palestinian houses,” and that now “19 newly homeless children will have nowhere to sleep.”
Funny, because you didn’t hear him complaining when Israel threw thousands of children out of their Gaza homes, leaving them with nowhere to sleep.

I previously posted about the latest rash of scandalous photos coming out of Afghanistan showing U.S. military atrocities under Obama’s command, and wondering if the media would pick up on it the way they did when it was Bush’s army… Well, here’s a twist I wasn’t expecting: yes, one of the U.S. media, Rolling Stone, [...]
Jeffrey Goldberg, a correspondent for the Atlantic, cast a spotlight on yet another disgustingly overt example of pure bias in the mainstream media, particularly at the anti-Semitic Reuters newswire. He points to a Reuters news item which contains the following despicable sentences: Police said it was a “terrorist attack” — Israel’s term for a Palestinian [...]
In the [sparse] reporting of the Palestinians’ massacre of the Fogel family, several newspapers stand out with their distorted sense of “balance”, i.e., where they feel overwhelmingly uncomfortable describing the barbarity of the Palestinians without at least taking a swipe or two at the Israelis, no matter how patently irrelevant or disgustingly disrespectful it comes [...]
