It’s about time! We’ll finally get to watch American Idol without having to keep one finger on the fast forward button. Paula Abdul, the “judge” often mocked for not being able to say anything negative (which should have disqualified her from being a judge right off the bat; cheerleader? yes, judge? no), is finally going to be off the show, as reported by E! Online.
I can’t even count how many times I sat there yelling at the television because of her inane comments, her stupid antics, and her occasional half-drugged delirium. I, for one, am glad to see her go. Good riddance. She really added nothing to the show.
I won’t get all excited just yet, though, because Kara DioGuardi (her apparent replacement) doesn’t seem to be much better, with her own complete set of ridiculous antics, not to mention those strange personas she slips into when she starts adopting those weird speech patterns and head bobs. I think she’s just trying too hard to fit in, trying to brand herself with some quirky behavior which, if it were natural (like Simon’s attitude, or Ryan’s sense of humor), it would “define” her, but, being artificial, it only serves to make her personality look silly and contrived.
Anyway, at least Paula’s gone! And I’ll take Kara over Paula any day.

Jeffrey Goldberg, a correspondent for the Atlantic, cast a spotlight on yet another disgustingly overt example of pure bias in the mainstream media, particularly at the anti-Semitic Reuters newswire. He points to a Reuters news item which contains the following despicable sentences: Police said it was a “terrorist attack” — Israel’s term for a Palestinian [...]
In the [sparse] reporting of the Palestinians’ massacre of the Fogel family, several newspapers stand out with their distorted sense of “balance”, i.e., where they feel overwhelmingly uncomfortable describing the barbarity of the Palestinians without at least taking a swipe or two at the Israelis, no matter how patently irrelevant or disgustingly disrespectful it comes [...]
