Devices like keyboards and mice rarely undergo noticeable technological advances, but when they do it’s usually something major (think scroll wheel for the mouse; I can’t ever go back to a mouse without one!).
Microsoft is now announcing a major innovation for the oft-ignored and rarely-advanced keyboard: pressure sensitivity! Granted, the demonstrations in the video you’re about to see are pretty rudimentary, but if you think about what you’re seeing, the applications for something like this are incredibly useful and virtually limitless and, like the scroll wheel on the mouse, I think that if this comes with only a trivial price increase (like the scroll wheel), this will catch on fast and universally.
