RNC Outfoxes DNC

As part of my post on the recent coordination of the Democrats’ scare tactics, I mentioned how the DNC put out a television ad with the following script:
Narrator: The right-wing extremist Republican base is back.
Birther crackpot at town meeting: He is not an American citizen!
Narrator: They lost the election. They lost on the Recovery Act, the budget and children’s health care. They’ve lost the confidence of the American people after eight years of failed policies that ruined our economy and cost millions of jobs.
Now, desperate Republicans and their well-funded allies are organizing angry mobs, just like they did during the election. Their goal? Destroy President Obama, and stop the change Americans voted for overwhelmingly in November.
Unidentified voice of Sen. Jim DeMint: It will break him.
Unidentified voice of Rush Limbaugh: I hope he fails.
Narrator: This mob activity is straight from the playbook of high-level Republican political operatives. They have no plan for moving our country forward, so they’ve called out the mob.
Same birther crackpot at same town meeting: And I want to know, why are you people ignoring his birth certificate?
Narrator, as phone number of GOP Washington headquarters appears onscreen: Call the Republican Party. Tell them you’ve had enough of the mob.
Well, the story goes from scary to hilarious, as the NY Times reports the following:
Those contacting the R.N.C. have been told by an automated system to press 1 if calling in reference to the D.N.C. ad. If they choose 1, they are then routed right on over to D.N.C. headquarters.
Finally, the RNC is doing something right!

I previously posted about the latest rash of scandalous photos coming out of Afghanistan showing U.S. military atrocities under Obama’s command, and wondering if the media would pick up on it the way they did when it was Bush’s army… Well, here’s a twist I wasn’t expecting: yes, one of the U.S. media, Rolling Stone, [...]
Jeffrey Goldberg, a correspondent for the Atlantic, cast a spotlight on yet another disgustingly overt example of pure bias in the mainstream media, particularly at the anti-Semitic Reuters newswire. He points to a Reuters news item which contains the following despicable sentences: Police said it was a “terrorist attack” — Israel’s term for a Palestinian [...]
In the [sparse] reporting of the Palestinians’ massacre of the Fogel family, several newspapers stand out with their distorted sense of “balance”, i.e., where they feel overwhelmingly uncomfortable describing the barbarity of the Palestinians without at least taking a swipe or two at the Israelis, no matter how patently irrelevant or disgustingly disrespectful it comes [...]
