MSNBC Trashes Obama’s Address

I never thought I’d say this, but the reaction by Keith Olbermann, Chris Matthews, and Howard Fineman on MSNBC to Obama’s address is almost exactly what I was thinking, specifically:
- How could Obama demand an escrow account, and say that “this fund will not be controlled by BP… the account must and will be administered by an independent third party”? On what authority can he make such a demand? Is he the new dictator? Last I checked, legislation would have to be drafted and passed.
- It’s getting extremely annoying how often he keeps bringing up Chu’s Nobel Prize. Shut up and plug the damn hole already.
- For all the talking that he did, we’re still not much clearer on when this is going to end.
Additionally, I’d like to add my own opinion that the following phrases are getting increasingly annoying:
- “I refuse to let that happen“… famous last words…
- “make no mistake“… too late for that on his part…
- “But the one approach I will not accept is” and ”the one answer I will not settle for is“… he’s got to stop with these aloof chest-puffing position-asserting phrases and just do his job for a change.

I previously posted about the latest rash of scandalous photos coming out of Afghanistan showing U.S. military atrocities under Obama’s command, and wondering if the media would pick up on it the way they did when it was Bush’s army… Well, here’s a twist I wasn’t expecting: yes, one of the U.S. media, Rolling Stone, [...]
Jeffrey Goldberg, a correspondent for the Atlantic, cast a spotlight on yet another disgustingly overt example of pure bias in the mainstream media, particularly at the anti-Semitic Reuters newswire. He points to a Reuters news item which contains the following despicable sentences: Police said it was a “terrorist attack” — Israel’s term for a Palestinian [...]
In the [sparse] reporting of the Palestinians’ massacre of the Fogel family, several newspapers stand out with their distorted sense of “balance”, i.e., where they feel overwhelmingly uncomfortable describing the barbarity of the Palestinians without at least taking a swipe or two at the Israelis, no matter how patently irrelevant or disgustingly disrespectful it comes [...]
