What a wonderful day it is today. Wins by Tea Party-backed candidates Rand Paul, Marco Rubio, Dan Coats, Ron Johnson, and others have boosted the conservative presence in the Senate while picking up a whopping 60 seats in the House!

True, Sharon Angle’s loss to Harry Reid was a notable disappointment amid the celebration, as that would have been a particularly satisfying win. But, at least we have the satisfaction of claiming Obama’s old Senate seat!

And, yes, Christine O’Donnell lost, as many expected she would, but across the continent Carly Fiorina pulled off a great achievement even despite her own loss, being able to come as close as she did with an incumbent Democrat in one of the most liberal states of the country!

All in all, this referendum on Obama’s policies and direction resulted in a clear and resounding “NO, YOU CAN’T”. The question remains: will Obama recognize this for what it is, or will he stubbornly persist in forcing his unwanted ideologies on the rest of the country? With neither humility and compromise being any of Obama’s stronger assets, we can pretty much guess how the next two years are going to play out…

Naked Emperor News has compiled what has to be one of the most hearty meals of crow that the Dems are going to have to eat right now, as they all continue to babble on about using the “nuclear option” to ram their corpulent health care obscenity through Congress.

This beautiful compilation includes an all-star cast of Obama, Biden, Reid, Clinton, Feinberg, Schumer, Dodd, and more, all of whose words are now coming back to bite them in the ass, as they once attacked the Republicans for considering the option (which the Republicans never ultimately utilized).

How about Biden telling Republicans at the time: I pray God when the Democrats take back control we don’t make the kind of naked power grab you are doing.

Or Obama: He [Bush] hasn’t gotten his way, and that is now prompting, you know, a change in the Senate rules that really I think will change the character of the Senate forever… That’s just not what the founders intended!

Or Hillary Clinton: So this president [Bush] has come to the majority here in the Senate and basically said, “Change the rules! Do it the way I want it done!” And I guess there just weren’t very many voices on the other side of the aisle that acted the way previous generations of senators have acted and said, “Mr. President, we’re with you! We support you! But, that’s a bridge too far. We can’t go there. You have to restrain yourself Mr. President!”

Or Schumer: We are on the precipice of a crisis, a constitutional crisis… the checks and balances which have been at the core of this republic are about to be evaporated by the nuclear option. The checks and balances which say that if you get 51% of the vote, you don’t get your way 100% of the time. It is amazing, it’s almost a temper tantrum… They want their way every single time, and they will change the rules, break the rules, misread the Constitution… so that they will get their way.

The most incredible part about this is that these shameless self-righteous blowhards probably don’t even realize how ridiculously hypocritical and idiotic they sound!

These brazen crooks should all be thrown out on their asses, and replaced with people who have actual integrity and honesty. How long are we going to put it with sanctimonious, pompous phonies like this???

Enjoy this hilarious video and pass it along so that everyone can enjoy it to the fullest!

Remember Trent Lott, the former GOP Senate Minority Leader who was forced by Democrat backlash to step down from his leadership post seven years ago after making a statement that was clearly twisted to make him look as though he actually regretted civil rights progress?

Well, in case you hadn’t noticed, insensitive statements of that caliber only warrant such serious repercussions when made by Republicans. When Democrats make them, hey, it’s no big deal. Just issue a half-hearted apology and everything is hunky-dory again.

Case in point: During Obama’s primary campaign, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) described him as “light skinned” and “with no Negro dialect—unless he wanted to have one”!

Reid just recently apologized, saying, “I deeply regret using such a poor choice of words. I sincerely apologize for offending any and all Americans, especially African-Americans for my improper comments.”

Why is he apologizing now if this statement occurred a while back? Don’t think for a minute that his callousness was haunting his sensitive conscience all this time. No, it was simply because he is about to be exposed. A book is about to be published this Monday with that statement in print (Game Change, by Time Magazine’s Mark Halperin and New York magazine’s John Heilemann), so he figures he’ll preempt it with an apology. How clever. As if we don’t see right through that (by “we”, I mean level-headed conservatives; after all, the Democrats certainly aren’t going to see through that ruse!).

With hypocrisy being the Democrat party’s #1 strength, it’s no wonder Obama is so good at it!

Speaking of Obama, here’s what he actually said back when the Trent Lott story was unfolding (courtesy of Weekly Standard):

In light of President Obama’s decision to forgive Harry Reid’s remarks about Obama’s skin color and lack of a “Negro dialect,” check out what Obama said about Trent Lott in 2002:

Illinois Senator Barack Obama (D-13th), who hosted WVON’s Cliff Kelley Show, challenged the Republican Party to repudiate Lott’s remarks and to call for his resignation as senate leader.

“It seems to be that we can forgive a 100-year-old senator for some of the indiscretion of his youth, but, what is more difficult to forgive is the current president of the U.S. Senate (Lott) suggesting we had been better off if we had followed a segregationist path in this country after all of the battles and fights for civil rights and all the work that we still have to do,” said Obama.

He said: “The Republican Party itself has to drive out Trent Lott. If they have to stand for something, they have to stand up and say this is not the person we want representing our party.”

–From the December 12, 2002 issue of the Chicago Defender.

And, speaking of presidents whose words can sure come back to bite them, here’s what Bill Clinton said of Obama (also to appear in the new book coming out):

A few years ago, this guy [Obama] would have been getting us coffee.

Priceless.

Sherman Frederick of the Las Vegas Review-Journal wrote a short but hilariously cynical piece in response to Harry Reid’s statement that it’s a senator’s job to get his state something in return for his vote on the heath care package.

He wrote:

I’m very disappointed.

It’s Christmas morning and I can’t find one single gift to Nevada from Sen. Harry Reid under the health-care “reform” tree.

Louisiana got a nice package. Florida and Connecticut, too. And Nebraska scored a really big present.

Just three days ago Uncle Harry said that if a senator didn’t get his state “something” in the health-care “reform” package, then that senator wasn’t doing his or her job.

And yesterday Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., upped the ante. He said that every state did “get something” in the measure.

OK. I’m excited. What’s Nevada’s gift? Uncle Harry, as everyone knows, is the Big Kahuna of the Senate. He “brings home the bacon,” his TV commercials claim. So if Nebraska got dispensation from Medicaid increases forever, one can only imagine the magnitude of Nevada’s present.

Flat screen TVs for every man, woman and child? No, no — that’s way too small.

A new military base … for every county?

A lump of coal and a power plant to fire it?

Maybe double our water allotment from the Colorado River?

Oh, I know: Lifetime exemptions for Nevada residents and all of their descendents from federal income tax? That would be nice.

Whatever it is, I can’t wait for the UPS truck tomorrow. The suspense is unbearable.

In what has to be one of the only humorous moments in this whole health care bill fiasco, Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) actually voted NO on the bill before realizing his mistake and voting yes, prompting a laugh in the chamber, especially from Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY).

(I guess we can’t say that Harry Reid never had an intelligent moment in his life. He now had one, albeit a very quick one .)

CQ Politics last week posted a great analysis showcasing Harry Reid’s sudden case of the jitters concerning his chummy relationship with Obama juxtaposed with the concerns of many voters upset by Obama’s hard line on Israel and free pass for the Palestinians. Oh, and he’s up for re-election soon.

The case of the jitters manifested itself as a public pro-Israel letter to Obama, the need for which is quite bizarre when you stop to consider the easy access that Senator Reid (D-NV) has to the president.

Apparently, Reid is sensing the outcry over the bizarre implications of Obama’s speech to the Muslim world and, representing the strong pro-Israel views of Congress, has taken the opportunity to distance himself in this area from Obama’s policies under the guise of an otherwise-unnecessarily public “public letter”.

His letter states:

I believe negotiations will be successful only with a renewed commitment from the Palestinians to be a true partner in peace. Arab states in the region must also act to support the peace process. All parties must recognize Israel’s right to exist, end terrorism, and respect previous agreements made with Israel.

David Nather of CQ Politics sums it up nicely when he writes:

It’s all couched in diplomatic language, but the message to Reid’s constituents seems clear: If you have a problem with Obama’s speech, don’t take it out on me.

Even so, though, it’s still nice to see that Muslim constituents haven’t intimidated our Senators and Congressmen enough to silence their support for Israel.
